disappointed
- Chrissy Adamson (11th Sep 2011 - 07:43:37)

Yesterday, when I was out for my early morning walk, I watched a young man pick up some rubbish from the pavement, just as he entered the square outside the Anchor, walk a couple of yards on and deposit said rubbish it in the bin. His actions warmed the cockles of my heart, and pleased me to see that not all of our young people are inconsiderate and irresponsible.

So if you were the young man, appearing to be heading for the station, in the red top and jeans carrying a black back pack, I say thank you for compounding my deep felt feeling that Liphook is a great little village with a big community spirit.

This mornings walk was disappointing. As I walked past the co-op there was an upturned hanging basket on the floor of the car park just by the 'hole in the wall'. I was saddened to be reminded that we still have an element of thuggery in Liphook. I will not assume that the blame should automatically be aimed at our youth, but some mindless person has removed this from its home and chucked it in the Co-op car park. As I proceeded towards the square, I noticed a lonely hook on the wall of a house (possibly number 14 or 16). Perhaps that is where the basket came from???

So if the owner of the hanging basket is wondering where it has disappeared to, perhaps the Co-op is a good place to start. There is a camera on the wall of the Co-op that may hold some answers.
