Hello,

After August off for repainting of the Village Hall, the Producers' Market is back this Saturday 10 - 12 in the Village Hall (Headley Road)

With Jams, Marmalade, Cakes, Wood turning, Cards, Jewellery, Knitted Items, Goats Cheese, Eggs, Ice Creams. Tea and Coffee will also be served.

Will this be a regular occurence - I suppose it depends on the response the market has?

Stephen

The market has been going now for over a year and it is a good source for unusual presents and tasty bites.
If you have never been I suggest you give it a whirl, and support this nice monthly event.

Ben

Will the candles in cups / sewshabbychic stall be there this time? I saw them at the Carnival fun day and they said they would be there.

I went to the market on Saturday for the first time (how bad am I?). I was under the impression it was just fruit and veg and associated produce but there were a complete mixture of stalls with really quality crafts, It really is well worth a visit! Maybe I could make a constructive criticism - the blackboard sign doesn't really give it justice. Could some artistic soul jazz it up? I'm sure it would attract a lot more customers, especially with Christmas (oh no the C word) approaching.

Ben
How much does it cost to have a table at the Producers Market?

Re: Liphook Producers' Market returns
- Jana (14th Sep 2011 - 21:43:57)

How much is a table and when is the next Market day?

Re: Liphook Producers' Market returns

Table cost £5.00 next market 2nd saturday in october

It will soon be that time of year again and if you need presents made then let the craft people at the market know so they can make them in time.

I will hopefully hav some more arty turned work for the next market

Come on Liphook support your local market

Ben, I was wondering about having some outside stalls.

One of the reasons that turnout is restricted (IMO) is that people can't see it as they drive by. Maybe - in the area to the front of the pet shop / travel agents?

It would be brilliant to have an outside market day like other villages do - but with a slant towards local produce, local arts etc.

I suppose we would have to beg and borrow for tarpaulins etc but I think it would be supported.

what do you think?

Hello,

As the Producers' Market is back again this Saturday, with as mentioned the Children in Need's Book & Cake Stall, as well as the regular mix of Produce and Crafts, including Handmade Card, Phoneix Cards, Wood turning, Cakes, Jams, and many great Christmas Gift ideas.

Its 10 - 12 in the Village Hall on the Headley Road.

Phoenix Cards will be there with lovely stocking fillers - many for under £3. ALL cards will be £1.20 each only at the Prodcucers' market on 12 November. I will also have a good selection of Christmas cards, advent calendars and our fantastic value Christmas wrapping paper.

Bit dissapointed. I was expecting local produce such as eggs, veg, sausages, etc... Only cakes and crafts. Should consider renaming the event, it is quite misleading.

I am sorry to hear your where a little disapointed with the market.

We all work very hard to produce goods for it each month and hope we show the talent /skills of local people.

There are vegatables and plants earlier in the year when in season from local gardens , normally there are eggs but this depends on how many the chickens have laid i believe, (You know what they say never work with children or animals ??). Sometimes honey when available . There was a meat seller but not sure whats happened to him.

I really does depend on what produce is available and varies from month to month.

Maybe your where expecting a Farmers Market which Liphook does not have at present.
,
This is a market for local Producers not a Produce market so I can understand why you might have thought otherwise.

Hope to see you all at the next market stocking up on your Christmas presents.

I agree the name is misleading because although the stallholders are usually local, some of the goods are not really produced by hand by a local person but just bought in goods. It should be renamed just Liphook local market? .
