Thanks to A3 Sports
- Tom Robinson (3rd Sep 2011 - 21:08:03)
I'd like to say a massive thank you to Beth Marr and her staff at the fantastic A3 Sports in Liphook. Beth was the first to respond to my appeal for sports apparel/donations and immediately set about making a set of t-shirts advertising the "100 runs challenge" with the JDRF logo on both front and back.
These had been sent over a month ago, but for some reason didn't reach me. I phoned Beth at the shop yesterday to let her know that A3 Sports had been given a plug in the article promoting my running challenge in the latest edition of Running Fitness magazine. When I explained I hadn't received the orginal batch of t-shirts, she promised to send me a couple in the post. That she did. They (five t-shirts) arrived this morning by special delivery, with some considerable expense on postage, and I'm really grateful to Beth for this.
Where many multi-national sports chains either didn't reply or said "no", the small Independent store in the village where I grew up decided my challenge was worth supporting.
Tomorrow I will undertake Run number 86, a 10K race in Tameside, and will be very proud wearing the T-Shirt that bears the logo for A3 sports - the shop that defines helpfulness, generosity and a first class service, of which Liphook can be rightfully proud of.
I have promoted A3 sports in the blog which I have used to track the challenge since I started on the 11th June, and it's being read all over the world. The blog is:

Thanks again to Beth and A3 Sports

I look forward to reading your blog and seeing the picture of the A3 Sports t-shirt. It's lovely to see a small business offering support for such a fantastic cause. Keep on running Tom - only another two weeks to go!!

Hi Tom
Thank you very much for your kind words. We were all very excited by your challenge and by the enormity of the personal challenge that you're undertaking.
We look forward very much to hearing updates on the last parts of your challenge, and wish you continued success in raising awareness of Junior Diabetes.
All the very best from all at A3 Sports

Your absolutely right with all you say about A3 sports. When I climbed Kilimanjaro a couple if years ago Beth was very supportive where other people didn't even reply to my request for sponsorship. Trev at the cycle shop next door was equally helpful. Two local business that we should all be very proud of and return the support.
