discounted petrol offer - Boris (1st Sep 2011 - 23:22:46) Just looking at the Sainsbury offer of 5p and more off petrol if you buy certain products. The one offering 5p offer requires you to spend £8 on ice cream. So, 40 litres at £1.339 less 5p = £1.289 x 40 = £51.56 + £8 gives a total cost of £59.56. But if you just buy 40 litres at 1.339 without the ice cream it is only £53.56. So don't get taken in by buying somethng you dont want at a so called discount price. You would need to buy 160 litres of fuel to save the £8 cost of the ice cream!

Re: discounted petrol offer - jo herridge (2nd Sep 2011 - 10:52:59) I would think that very few people dislike ice cream. I love ice cream but I wouldn't spend £8 on it. I would buy the cheaper ice cream anyway. These offers always have one motif. To get you to spend more in the long run.
