Feet-nibbling fish near Liphook?
- Sharon (20th Aug 2011 - 08:10:00)

Hi, does anyone know if there is a 'fish pedicure' (garra rufa fish I believe) spa near Liphook. I know there is one in Guildford, and one on Camberley, but I was hoping that there was one a bit closer. It looks fun, and I'd like to try it!

Hi there,
I noticed one the other day in Weyhill just past the purple Indian restaurant near to the wedding dress shop. I'm sorry but I don't know the name of it!

There is one in Haslemere - noticed the sign the other day. Think it is opposite Cook but no idea what the beauticians is called. Can't help more than that I'm afraid and yes it is fun!!

There are leaflets in number26, I have had my own feet nibbled in the spa next to dress makers in weyhill, it is fantastic and you feel so well after having it done. It is very clean and tranquil. The lady who ownes it is very lovely and the shop is very beautiful. £18 for half an hour, very well worth a visit or two!

If you are going to have a fish pedicure, then I would use an actual beauty salon rather than just a hairdresser that has latched onto the latest craze!

At a beauty salon they will check the feet of all the people who are using the fish spa for any contraindications. Hairdressers are not trained to do this on feet!

Imagine who's feet might have been in there before yours? Just because you might have to wash your feet before you go in it does not cut out the risk of cross-contamination!

I hate to be a misery, but just do your research first!

I do not think a beautician is particularly more medically trained than a hairdresser? After all Amy Child from the only way is Essex is a beautician hardly well trained in contra indications I would think!

I would love to know where Amy Childs got her qualification from!...I don't know giving us Beauty Therapists a bad name like that...

Beautician's are specifically trained to check for contra indications when carrying out pedicures thats all I'm saying...I haven't claimed that we are medically trained!

I wonder whether the one in Guildford may be better then, it is just fish pedicures, so one would expect them to be extremely knowledgeable (sp?) on good fish & feet care. If it's their sole (ha ha!) business, their reputation is everything!

If you go to Guildford then I thoroughly recommend the Champneys spa at the top of the High Street rather than the one in the Friary where you sit on display for everyone who is passing by!!

I didn't realise that the Champneys day spa did this. Do you know how much it is? I might treat myself with a few more treatments if I go there!!!!

They don't do it in Liphook (or they didn't anyway). Just in their Guildford spa - a good excuse for some retail therapy as well to justify the trip!
