Birds in Attic
- MH (26th Jan 2022  11:13:10)

Hello all

We appear to have two nesting sites in our attic, with insulation being scattered outside the house each day.

Does anyone know of a local and I guess qualified person/company that can remove the birds/nests and block up the entry holes?

Afraid your stuck with them until nesting season is over. Illegal to disturb birds nesting

That is correct, £20K fine if you do move them during nesting. Same with you can't cut your hedges etc during this time.

The 'Bird Nesting Season' is officially from February until August (Natural England) and it is recommended that vegetation works (tree or hedge cutting) or site clearance should be done outside of the nesting season.

I wouldn't worry about it, they won't do any harm. I have birds and bees in my attic all year round. Be happy they chose your house (BEE happy!)

If the birds are already nesting they are protected by law .
