Cycle routes in Liphook and surrounding areas
- Barry (16th Aug 2011 - 09:52:09)

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to whether there are any cycle routes in Liphook or the surrounding areas at all?

Depends what you mean. Personally I think the cycling is brilliant, covering all tastes.

You could try the route covered in www.hants.gov.uk/rh/cycling/liphook.pdf

For a flat route, totally off-road, try the perimeter track of Woolmer Forest.

Alice Holt is perfect for family cycling.

If you don't mind roads, try any of the lanes around Liphook. Get an OS map or just explore.

Or there's a cycle event organised by Evans Cycles from Bohunt on Saturday and Sunday, with waymarked off and on-road routes of varying lengths.

Finally, don't forget you can take bikes on South West Trains, allowing all sorts of linear routes.

Leaving Liphook and just as the Headley road turns into Hill House Hill there is a public footpath/bridleway on your left (just past Dryden Way) that leads to Conford. Nice to cycle down (as well as walk) as the track is quite wide and leads to Conford Moor which is nice for walking and cycling. Round trip is not long in distance but it is pleasant.
Please try it out; walkers and cyclists alike will enjoy it.
