Rubbish in Radford Park - J (26th Dec 2021 - 11:33:36)
What a shame! Out on the Boxing Day dog walk in Radford Park there are several drink (lager?) cans littering the ground at the Forest School meeting place.
How thoughtless and it made me feel so sad.

Oh no, how awful. It's a shame people just can not treat this beautiful village with any respect.

My partner and I have litter grabbers and take these when we walk around the park. It’s really satisfying to pick up the litter - although of course depressing that it’s there in the first place. Litter grabbers are easy to purchase from Amazon if anyone is interested in also helping to keep our lovely village clean.

Surprized an angry parent hasn't rocked in with "we where all young once"
I seen many a post on this forum over the years about the exact same thing at the Skatepark (that rusting hulk of dangerous metal that hasn't seen more than 10 skateboards in 10 years) and then the (happy to have them out of the house mum) got enraged that little jonnies freedom to shout obscenities whilst smoking drugs could have been affected by good neighbourly concern.
Cue... "there is nothing around here for us kids" and "give us a quarter of a million for a new skatepark" which we wont use but need to "hang out" at and abuse the community from.
Speaking of the skatepark when is any of the following going to happen
1. Tear it down
2. Move it to somewhere more suitable in full view of many
3. Fit CCTV to it
4. Lock it up at night
???????????????????????

Just been for a walk in my lunch hour and found the beer cans mentioned in this post. Picked up 10 of them plus about 8 nitrous oxide canisters. Little disappointed that not one person before me thought to maybe to do the same. Still, all gone now.

Also noticed a lot of used drug paraphernalia around the village. Is this a new thing introduced to the village? I cannot recall so much evidence of it in the past
Re: Rubbish in Radford Park - oldie (4th Jan 2022 - 16:31:36)
I think the drug taking can be attributed to a few things.
More people living in Liphook. More drug takers.
Where Liphook has a problem? More people living in Liphook. Huge growth in recent years. Not a single improvement to the village's (town's?) facilities. There's probably less to do for young adults in Liphook now than 30 years ago.

Even places with a lot of facilities for young people have a drug problem. I do not think the 2 things are related.
