Liphook Rugby
- Tariq Kadri (8th Aug 2011 - 22:07:00)

Hello fellow Liphook dwellers!

The family and I have just relocated to Liphook and are loving it... We have three boys aged 8, 7 and 4 and the elder two are interested in carrying on with their rugby. Has anyone got any advice as to the best rugby clubs in the region for these age groups?

Appreciate any help you can offer.

Cheers, Tags.

Hello and welcome!
I've had a similar hunt since arriving in Liphook a year ago and my boys have been going to Petersfield RFC, who also do a summer 3 dayer. Very nice coaches and atmosphere.
We are now looking at Haslemere though due to time clashes with my youngest childs transfer of devotion to football.
Both seem like good clubs.
A local team would have been wonderful and if you find any closer to home let me know.

Hi Susie,

Thanks so much for your response.

Haslemere would probably make more sense for us too so will look into that. I can't see a local team being set up as there doesn't look like there has been much in the way of demand; a quick search on this forum doesn't bring up much at all!

My middle boy also loves football and I'm reaching out to the local Liphook team managers at the moment to see how it all works!

Thanks again...

Having played for many years at haselmere and then moved on to coaching with the minis and the collts I have to say that as a club that adherehes to the ethos of rugby I think Haselmere are the best for the original ethos of rugby.

Isn't it a shame that there is no rugby training in Liphook.

My 3 all play(ed) and we spend most weekends driving to Haslemere. It is quite a nice club but very private school orientated. Some of the Bohunt boys got a bit fed up with the atmosphere at times. But overall a very good squad.

The parents (Mums) get together to organise the food rota so that is a good way to meet other parents if you are new to the area as well.
