WARNING : Tax Rebate Scam - Keith Thomas (8th Aug 2011 - 15:17:26) For those of you already up to date with this please forgive yet another warning. There are bogus emails being sent to many people (both my wife and I have received one in the past 2 weeks) purporting to come from HMRC with a subject of "Automated Tax Refund Notification". This email looks very real and it would be so easy to click on the link to enter your bank/credit card details in the hope of getting some money back from the taxman. Instead, you will put this invaluable information into the hands of crooks with obvious dire consequences. The HMRC have published information about this scam on www.hmrc.gov.uk/security/... and other credible sites have also published articles... www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/... www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/... I hope this stops some of you from falling into this trap. Keith Thomas
