Old railway footbridge
- Marion (29th Sep 2021 - 10:09:26)

When was it taken down and where is it now ? A piece of Liphook history - could have been cut into small pieces and sold to locals for charity.

I think it contained asbestos

Lyndon
You are wrong for several reasons. If there was asbestos it could not have removed in two days and also it would have been obvious that it contained it the bridge was made of metal, wood and a bit of asphalt nothing else. As for the original post I don't think anybody would want a bit of an old bridge, hopefully the metal was recycled.

Do you want me to ask the council, when they dig up the tarmac for the resurfacing of station road, to keep the tarmac and sell it off to people for charity? I’m sure someone would also love a bit of tarmac history too!

It was rusted and falling to pieces. Who would want to own a piece of that ?

Would have made great Christmas presents, a piece of angle grinded footbridge, beats the hell out of knitted jumpers!
