Malthouse meadows parking
- Simon (22nd Sep 2021 - 17:31:38)

Please please please can people stop parking on the pavements! I find it so hard to get down this road now when walking with my elderly mother. In the last few weeks, all of a sudden there are many more cars, some of which used to park on their drive. I see mothers with buggys having to walk into the road, with toddlers in tow.

It’s bad enough that people on meadow way have no sympathy for pedestrians. I understand that many have more cars than space and therefore are unable to use the drive, or they simply don’t have the driving ability to be able to park on their drives, but for god’s sake, leave one side of the road free to walk on! There’s one blue car down there that even parks with all 4 wheels on the pavement, as if it were their own private driveway!!

Please stop being so selfish everyone.

It's definitely getting worse.

Saturday and Wednesday it seems to become an overspill carpark for the rec.

It's so bad that sometimes you barely turn into the estate and the arse of your car is stuck on the Haslemere Road as you give way to someone coming past a line of traffic, some of whom are illegally parked within 30 feet of the junction.

Why the council can't get some yellow paint and put some bloody lines in is beyond me.

As for those parking on the pavements or blocking up the turning circle at the entrance to Radford Park- selfish ********

I agree. The parking along Malthouse Meadows as you approach Haslemere Road is hazardous. I can't believe how many houses seem to have 4 or 5 cars! Has a request ever been made to the council to add yellow lines does anyone know?

There were some lines put down, but they don't go far enough on the side of the road where the recreation ground is.

Leading to next to no cars parking on the right (as you enter Malthouse Meadows) and the left looking like Piccadilly Circus in the bloody rush hour.
