Dog barking in early hours
- Tired (8th Sep 2021 - 08:42:57)
Whoever it is in The Maltings/ Locke Road that is letting their dog out in the early hours to bark - please can you not. Last week it was 2:30am and last night it was 12:30 am and then 2:45am. Even wearing ear plugs I was woken up and couldn't get back to sleep for ages. I have to get up early for work and it's really inconsiderate at this time of night/morning.

And again last night. Woken up in early hours by the dog. So selfish and thoughtless.

You should try living in Passfield, dogs barking at all hours, without any care at all from their owners.
Some bark non stop at anything.
When trying to have a polite word,it falls on deaf ears.
It has become nuisance barking, when outside of the “ quiet “ times.
People now working from home believe it’s acceptable to leave their dog barking when spending long periods of time on their phone!
FYI It’s NOT,and if doesn’t stop it will be a polite letter to their employer next !
Sick of it !

The lady who does the coffee van at the station also has trouble with her dog who is always barking lots first thing in the morning. Bloomin nuisance and she just lets it bark, doesn’t tell it off or make it stop.

There is a wave of Lockdown Dogs nationwide. Too many dogs were taken up by irresponsible owners who wanted a trendy breed toy fashion accessory or status symbol to entertain them during lockdowns and fit in socially. The grey and criminal dog breeding industry is thriving. Poopooopoodles and the like do not receive correct training and sometimes even not given their basic treatment. They turn out canine ASBOs, a burden on the owners and on the otherwise uninvolved local community. Happy days!

I can never understand how it doesn't bother the owners. All dogs bark of course but when it goes on and on it's just draining. Maybe some people genuinely don't notice it...?

A dog that barks constantly and for no reason is not a happy dog.

Dogs that constantly bark do so for attention and they also probably need to be exercised, a medium sized to large dog needs a minimum 2 hours a day split morning and evening, they get easily bored and frustrated. Also a dog will react to noise eg other dogs barking, people walking close to the garden etc. They should not be left outside all day.

Try throwing a toy into the garden - a squeaky ball - bet the dog will be thrilled to have something else to do.
