LIDBA rides again
- LippyChick (12th Jun 2005 - 16:52:50)

Hurrah!

Yet again Liphook demonstrates what a brilliant place it is to live with the fantastic LIDBA ride today.

As always the event was well organised and manned. It was staggering to see the sheer quantity of riders taking part, as well as the help and support that the riders offer to eachother.

Huge thanks to the organisers and everyone who helped out. A particular thanks to the Liphook Guides who were a most welcome sight at the water stops with a smile and encouragement for fatigued riders.

It was also great to see support from so many who weren't taking part. A wave and cheer can go a long way when you're red-faced and puffing for breath.

On a personal note I'd like to thank the very kind gentleman from Petersfield who talked me through some of the more challenging climbs. I'm not sure I would have managed without you.

Roll on next year!

Agreed, another superbly organised event and perfect weather too. I rode with my son and 11 year old daughter and they both enjoyed the experience but we were perturbed by the large number of drinks bottles discarded by the roadside, many of which were half full and plastic cups thrown in the hedgerows for several hundred yards past the drinks stations. Why do people do that?

Hi Lippychick,

Well I'm very impressed to hear you did the LIDBA ride!!

How very energetic! Is that what becoming 'an honest woman' does for you ;-)
