Recycling booking difficulties

I have been trying to book an appointment at Bordon recycling but have had no luck. After phoning EHDC I was told booking using an IPad could be the reason for the failure.
So if anyone is having difficulties this could be the answer.

On the day we're to pay directly for recycling services (not very far in the future), IPads payment would work alright!
If they wanted to provide the service, they'd find ways of making it work, IT solutions, staffing at the dump and staffing at the offices 24/7 is possible. We pay for the facility anyway - make it available free for all without pre-booking.

Due to issues booking we are now using Godalming as you don't need to book. It's very organised.

Booked last night with an Ipad, no problems at all. Agree the booking system should stop though

I started having difficulties on my iPad some while ago the iPad itself was at least 8 years old and stops upgrading to support everything the older it is. Buying a newer iPad stopped this problem or booking via a mobile phone ?

Petersfield recycling great. Straight down the A3 to to industrial estate. Usually plenty of slots available to book, really helpful staff, and separate In and Out entrances make for smooth flow.

I've never had any problems with the booking system for Bordon and I think it should be kept in place indefinitely.
It's so much more effecient to have a timed slot, when you know you won't be waiting in a queue for ages.
There are fewer emissions, as the booking system eliminates long queues of cars with engines idling.
People make fewer trips, as the booking system encourages them to store their waste until they have a worthwhile amount to warrant the booking and the trip. Fewer trips also reduces emissions.

I agree with Jen but I think it should be more than once a week, sometimes you don't need to go for months and then you might need to go 2 or 3 times in quick succession, with a relatively small car it would be helpful to be able to go 2 or 3 times a week or maybe a certain number of times a year.

I disagree. The booking system is not that difficult to use but any slight impediment might cause people to not be bothered and just fly tip their rubbish and nobody wants that. Also we need to get back to normal and keeping measures in place that were set up for COVID19 which has largely been sorted and all measures are being removed.

It’s a reduced service at Bordon,as there isn’t glass recycling any longer.
& Staff aren’t helpful at Bordon,even saw a woman walk in with a baby in a pram to socialize with staff,but “ no pedestrians “apparently, she then went into the staff hut, and sat down,leaving baby in pram opposite the skips!..
a complete disregard to H & S and their own rules.
&
Looking on EH web pages,it still says that glass recycling is available.
Outsourcing the recycling has been poorly managed.
Is there glass recycling at Petersfield,anyone know?

Yes glass recycling at Petersfield but not hazardous waste
