Wasp's Nest
- Jane Kadri (14th Aug 2021 - 16:20:59)

Does anyone know of a method or person who can get rid of a wasp's nest in our garden?
Please email me on jane@kadri.org

We used Nature in Balance a couple of weeks ago. Justin Peters 07855833417, very professional.

Just leave it! What harm is it doing in your garden?!

Hmmm, it is in the doorway into the greenhouse!!!

So for the short period of time that they cause a minor inconvenience you’re going to annihilate the lot. Don’t be surprised in that case when your greenhouse crops succumb to greenfly and caterpillars.

Nasty horrible things, stings can kill (albeit rare), definitely okay to destroy - ignore the tree hugger brigade!

So could a bee sting kill. Wasps are also pollinators.

I would never kill a wasp's nest unless it was in a place where people have to go thereby risking stings ie a greenhouse door being one of them so I sympathise with Jayne.

Wasps are very important in the environment. Social wasps are predators and as such they play a vital ecological role controlling the numbers of potential pests like greenfly and many caterpillars. A world without wasps would be a world with a very much larger number of insect pests on our crops and gardens. so leave them alone when you can.

Problem solved. All wasps alive. But not telling you how it was done as the tree huggers will give me a stiff sentence.at Guantanamo or Tower of London..
Thanks for your advice and recommendations sensible peeps.

You can’t leave us hanging ! We must know the final sting in the tail ! I’ll be buzzing if you tell us and I’ll hive off the answer for future use. All sounds like a swarm in a teacup.

More beer vicar !

Have a great weekend folks.

Long time no Cheers ! Finchie
