Liphook Carnival Fundraising Walk 2021 - Sally (10th Aug 2021 - 15:38:28) Hi All, Sadly no Carnival this year, but we are holding a Carnival Fundraising Walk on Sunday 5th September departing from The Links Tavern, who have kindly offered to host. We will be holding two walks, one approx 7/8 miles arrive 8.30am for 9am start and one approx 2/3 miles arrive 9.30am for 10am start. Fancy Dress is optional, prize for best Child and Adult. There will be a scavenger hunt for the Children, where they will need to identify pictures of animals and identify the letter to make a final anagram. Dogs are always very welcome, this year we will offer a dog free walk for either the long or short walk which will depart once the walkers and dogs have headed off arrive 10.15am for 10.45am start. Parking available on Station Rd Car Park or at The Links Tavern. The Links are very kindly offering to supply bacon/veggie rolls, tea and coffee for a small donation to the Carnival Fund. Marc from The Bakehouse in Liphook has kindly offered to supply the bread rolls for the event, which is in addition to the £300 he has donated for next year's Carnival! Next year we plan to resume the Carnival and plans are already in place to make it bigger and better than before, so any money raised will all be going to a great cause which Liphook and surrounding villages and towns will benefit from. The cost of attending the Walk will be £7 for Adults and £3 for Children. Any person raising money from sponsorship will be able to attend the walk at no cost. This year we are offering a pre registration via our website where there will be the ability to pay prior to attending. This will enable a Covid safe environment for those who wish to just turn up and walk. We will still accept registration and payment on the day. The Links Tavern have kindly offered to provide squash and biscuits at the checkpoints.
