Royal Anchor Carpark
- Ian (24th Jun 2021 - 08:12:01)

Management have issued a statement that parking for local shoppers and school drop offs is restricted to certain areas of their car park and if compliance is not forthcoming they will start a ticketing system! How to endear local goodwill, don’t they realise fake reviews are not enough to encourage local support. Liphook is hardly Guildford and I cannot recall the last time I saw the car park full.

Am I missing something here?

It is their car park after all and they are entitled to do as they wish. Would you be happy if I parked my car at your house just because you have a driveway?

Yes Pete, you are missing something, OP is talking about a pub car park and community relations; a topic that probably involves a bit of intellectual flexibility

I'm not surprised - my partner and I drove past on Friday morning after doing our weekly shop & commented that all the cars parked in the pub -car park - it was FULL could not be at the anchor at that time in a morning Sorry I don't blame them - sad they have to ask the public to act responsibly they shouldn't have to!

Here are some older threads which discuss this carpark and who actually 'owns' it.

It will protect the anonymity of the young people taking their drugs at the end of the car park too.

I was told when you go in, to the right is public, to the left is the pubs, but don't quote me on that, check for yourselves😁, they did put in a ticket system a few years back but decided not to implement it at the time, which was fair enough, if you park there you go in and order something you put your reg in, it's free, otherwise you are kind of stealing in a way, it's not great, but happens in every major urban area, just a small price to pay for no longer being a village, but an area designated for development, they are leaving London in droves, we're going to need bigger car parks!

er, that is what I always thought. Right is public and Left is private. That's why I thought they had to stop putting the chain across during school times etc.

And so the story that was all over the Liphook 'Community' Facebook page yesterday moves over here.

It's very simple - the car park is the pubs, they can do what they like with it.

Before this turns into another excuse to kick the staff of the Anchor - which for the record I do not and have never worked for - try thinking before you start being yet another pathetic keyboard warrior.

For a 'community' that seems to bang on about how friendly Liphook is some of them are putting the place to shame
