Conford Ford - Anon (13th Jun 2021 - 21:31:38) Hello, We’ve been looking online at a house for sale in Conford and wondered if anyone could tell us what it’s like to live there? I believe there is only one road to access the hamlet and that is over a ford? Does the ford often prevent access? Are there any other local concerns we should consider, such as the industrial area/other businesses? Is the area to the west of Conford common land/National Trust owned? Many thanks for any info or advice.

Re: Conford Ford - joe (13th Jun 2021 - 23:23:23) i do not live in Conford but visit for walking quite often, seems a very close knit quiet community where everyone knows each other. Three quarters of the houses are accessible without having to use the Ford. You are correct in that there is only one road in and out. Most of the land around there is owned by the National Trust or MOD. it is a very rural village and I do not know of any business based there, there may be but they would be small scale. I do not usually drive through the ford. I have not heard of anyone not being happy living there, hope that helps.
