NHS data sharing
- James (1st Jun 2021 - 12:35:31)

'GPs warn over plans to share patient data with third parties in England'.

This story has appeared in the press and concerns the sharing of medical records for 'research and planning purposes'. If patients wish to opt out they have until June 23. Although the data will be anonymised, a code allows it to be tracked back to the individual.

That 3rd party is probably potential private medical bidders to size up how much they will line the govt pockets to sell parts of the NHS,,, give it a few years and a doctors visit and a course of antibiotics will come with an itemised bill costing £1000+

Re: NHS data sharing

In the last few weeks the Conti Ransomware Group, based somewhere in Russia, hacked into the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE) and demanded 20 million euros as a ransom or they are threatening to publish details they have accessed unless the ransom is paid. Almost all medical treatment, hospital admissions and appointments requiring access to medical notes have had to be cancelled.

The Irish Government are refusing to pay the ransom so it seems that information will be shared publicly.

How secure do we think this new system of file sharing is with the NHS?

Paul Robinson
