Vaccine Problems
- John (18th May 2021 - 16:08:35)
I've had terrible migraine for 12 days after the second vaccine. I'm
just wondering if anyone else has had problems as the more people
I talk to in Liphook the more I realise I am not alone.

Hi John, you should of received a leaflet with side effects on it. If you are worried about it you should probably contact 111 or your GP.
It may also be worth yellow carding it.
Both of the vaccines I received caused me to have reactive arthritis so there is plenty of side effects on it.

John,
I appreciate you sharing your experiences.
Very complex to find up-to-date details at the moment, I find it mind bogglingly confusing trying to determine risks and efficacies or find out up-to-date information, I'm not sure if that's intentional by the government. Obviously everyone wants people to get vaccinated fast so we can start going out again, see family, eat out etc, so we have to trust the government that it's safe.
I think outside of the big towns and cities it's mainly the Oxford vaccine for over 40s because we don't have the facilities to store the Pfizer at the temperature needed, plus its a lot cheaper. But that's just the way it is, so we take our chances and hope we aren't one of the unlucky ones. The chances of a really bad clot reaction are said to be 1 in 250,000 and to be fair, the other problems are less worrying and should hopefully only be temporary. However the most up-to-date info I can find only relates to the first injection.
However, if people have any kind of bad reaction they should phone the yellow card hotline or their GP, as it will be recorded and give better info to the regulators, if people suffer reactions and don't record it they are being a bit self centred and not thinking of everyone let alone themselves!
It's also reassuring to hear from all the people who have had both injections and feel great and we know they will be statistically in the vast majority.
Good luck all.

John
I understand your concern but talkback is really not the best place to voice your concern.
The only way out of lockdown is for a high uptake of the vaccine which is very effective and has a very low amount of side effects.
Posts like yours whilst well meaning may put some people into the anti-vaxxer camp.

Really tricky topic/thread this.
On the one hand community websites are great at sharing experiences, worries and solutions and it can very much be part of the " a problem shared........". some would take comfort that they are not alone in experiencing side effects from the vaccines
However, with this Pandemic we are in a unique situation at the moment and the internet has played a big part in fuelling fear and misinformation... and sharing minority experiences that can then fuel public misconception.
I don't often agree with AF who in the past has himself promoted utter drivel about Covid on this site but on this I do share his sentiment

Are Don and AF saying we shouldn't talk about it, I'm not clear if that was intended to come across?
If so, whilst I can see the logic being this is a pandemic, I would also have concerns that historically when public debate has been muffled, with hindsight bad decisions were often being made that affected ordinary people.
If this topic was anti vaccine I could completely understand, but it doesn't appear to be, so I would be more comfortable going forward if people didn't feel pressured not to share, even if that pressure is only peer pressure.
I think the Editor is best placed to decide what we can or can't talk about and how and if this thread or individual comments are crossing any lines. Noone has been at all rude , in fact I commend every response which seems to have gone out of their way to be measured (which is in itself unusual and shows how seriously people take this subject and how much it concerns everyone), let's keep it so, well done folks!

Potential effects of getting Covid - V - Side effects of the vaccine = no contest
I dont like wearing a seat belt when am driving as I find it unconfortable but I still do it every time as I not like being thrown out of a car via the windscreen should I have an accident.

From memory “John” started the same thread some while ago. His thread may have been started ( both or either time) to discourage people from being vaccinated. There are still those out there who believe that Covid is all an invention.

I'm sure the anti-vaccers (I'm not saying John is one) will come round to the wisdom of having the vaccine. It was interesting how many people in their twenties were queuing for the vaccine in Bolton yesterday when a year ago we were hearing comments along the lines of "it only affects old people so why should we suffer?) We must all be socially responsible and have the vaccine to do all we can to retard this terrible disease and end the distopian existence we are enduring.

I had a nasty headache the day after my first jab. Not a migraine, just a splitting headache, and feeling tired. Less effect after the second jab. My wife had longer-lasting side effects after the first one.
But we're still both ALIVE. In the scheme of things, a headache is preferable to being on a ventilator and dying from this horrible disease.
The only vaccine problem is caused by those refusing it.

D,
That is a minority of young people. The majority of young people actually want the vaccine.

James I hope the majority of young people do want the vaccine, maybe your friends do but unless you have spoken to the majority of young people in this country we may not know. There is still a campaign on social media and “john” has not replied on here. I do not always believe postings and that is one of them.
