Countrywide
- Rob (16th May 2021 - 19:11:03)
So I've read in the paper country wide is a potential bar and restaurant, being taken over by the red distillery company, that's moved Into the industrial site. This is pretty good news, I’ll definitely be going there.

Do you mean 'Our Real English Gin is hand-crafted by expert artisan distiller, Neil Patterson, in the beautiful South Downs, on an estate just outside Haslemere, Surrey'
reddistillery.co.uk/gin/real-english-drinks…
'Unit 2 Station Road Industrial Estate, Liphook GU30 7DR
About us page ;COUNTY WEST SUSSEX
strange conflicting addresses on their web site, there address shows as Station Road Liphook,is it not posh enough for them.....or do they not really know where they are !! will a bar they have take off if they aren't straightforward with there distillery location,I wonder

Just looked at the website. They have done a pretty poor job of jazzing up their location. Maybe image is everything to them or they think their target market is stupid people

Re: Countrywide
- Location (19th May 2021 - 07:12:37)
I think possibly the location is actually correct. Bare in mind that the station road address is most likely a bottling location and not where the actual distilling takes place (note that they refer to an estate outside haslemere with its own natural spring). And yes, Haslemere is Surrey, but if you head out of Liphook as if you're going to Hollycombe you briefly pass through West Sussex. My guess is that the estate is probably located at the left turn-off as you head to Milland, that takes you to Fernhurst, placing it closer to Haslemere (a more recognisable town as it is slightly larger) whilst also actually being located in West Sussex, it's then bottled in Liphook

Please don't bash businesses that are actually investing in Liphook - jobs and filling empty premises - please encourage new business instead.

Yes K spot on we need to encourage more business to liphook not run them down we need to build up our infrastructure. We are sadly lacking in commercial enterprise. And with no other infrastructure on the horizon ie ring roads ect we are heading for a dormitory town with all the problems.

I don't suppose it's really any of our business regarding their addresses but, for the record, they have a premises in Killinghurst Lane, Haslemere. Their board is on the road outside the plant.

If there's a company trading with the public and we are considering using its services, it's always our business George, this is the age of social media, all traders know that better than us, that's why they're constantly trying to place their products everywhere on the internet to my kids😁
