Cyclists and Cycling bashers - the world has gone nuts ... - Finchie (1st Apr 2021 - 09:31:10) This is outrageous. Today of all days, they announce that cyclists have to wear face masks. Just when we planned a couple of rides over the weekend. road.cc/content/news/face-masks-made-compulsory-cyclists-england-282183 There is a loophole - so I have just put my order for one of the other bikes. I’m penning an email to our MP as we speak. Let me know if I can add you to the list of those equally outraged. Or if you think it’s a good thing - also please comment. It’s almost like none of the cyclists own cars ! But the reverse is true. I don’t know any cyclist that doesn’t own at least one car, often more cars !!! Shame some folk aren’t more grateful that we are still contributing while not using. You’re welcome ! Fuel duty it perfect - as the more you use - the more you pay. So nice and fair ! I’ve done a quick calculation and the wear of the one square inch for the contact point on bikes tyres on a road means the road will need to be resurfaced once every ten thousand years. Can’t wait to glide the lycra on and emulate Jan Ulrich on the TdF (Tour de France for the uninitiated). Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it ! I think I’m going to get a unicycle to get around the need to wear a mask and keep the Covid police away. I’ve had a quick look and see all the tricycles are sold out. Happy weekend, Finchie x
