Road Closure Haslemere Road no acces to Square
- k (15th Feb 2021 - 10:31:32)

Found Haslemere Road closed just before Square this AM - anyone know how long likely to be for? Hadn't seen any advanced warnings but could have missed if been in last few days as not working full time at moment.

I didn't see any advanced warning either and I would be interested to know as I'm moving on weds and it would cause a big inconvenience!

The signs I have seen on Chitley Lane which is also closed say today and tomorrow. I am assuming that is to stop cars using it (and Devils Lane) as a shortcut whilst the diversion is in place but could be wrong.

So I've just heard that it's going to be closed until the 26th to repair a burst water main. I dearly hope that's wrong!

Hi,
What is wrong with a burst water main. They are important to our community, and every device needs respect in our village. Without water we would all be in big trouble. The contractors carrying-out essential work in difficult conditions, need support in these difficult times.

First World Drama!!

The diversion adds a hellish 5 mins to a journey.

Why are you digging at me for Paul? I just tried to relay some information I heard and suddenly I don't think a water main is important or even know we need water, ha!

Personally I have to drive through there several times a day so 5 mins each way soon adds up thanks.

Not a broken pipe, laying a new pipe to the new houses being built behind Coytes.

As a planned closure, it would just have been nice to have had advance warning.

Just to let you know you can get through if you go through the little side car park :)

Thanks local yob, but that is dangerous. The road is closed. Please don't move the barrier at the Haslemere end. The square end has been left accessable for those of us who need it and not for it to become a rat run. I do not wish to find I can not get to my key worker job because some yob has caused a crash at the bottom of my drive. Please respect the closure.

The road is now fully open again.
