Half Term - COVID Police and Old People
- Finchie (14th Feb 2021 - 08:49:13)

I’m very conscious that all those without kids, and particularly old people over 48, have got way too much time on their hands in this lockdown worrying about other people’s actions.

My advice now and always has been, don’t stress about things outside your control. You can stay safe by following the guidelines and never have to see a child until you get your jab, so chill. You are completely in control of that.

My heart goes out to all those parents who have just an awful situation to deal with, families desperately trying to stay sane, with the stresses of one or two adults working from home for the first time, having not seen anyone since November (perhaps one or two adults at most) and one or more young kids at home going stir crazy and they have to manage and desperately try and engage those kids in online learning, where I personally know teachers who are struggling.

For those folks, I have massive sympathy and you have to do whatever you can to remain sane to get through the rest of Feb and March. And I’m not going to stress if I see a couple or more youngsters together. In fact I will toot my horn in celebration on my weekly visit to Sainsburys !

Just to give the Covid police a heads up so they can avoid me and my child over half term. We are planning an outing to get away from these four walls. First one since November. So we will be going for a drive through McDonalds in Petersfield on Wednesday. Expected to be our half term highlight. For those that want to shove a rule book in my face - please stick that where the sun don’t shine as I am playing my mental health emergency card.

In the meantime stay safe and STAY SANE. Don’t let others get you down. April is just around the corner.

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Cheers, Finchie
(Very old person way over 48)

Have a good time Finchie, doesn’t sound like you’re breaking any rules!

That Finchie is our Saturday lunchtime weekly favourite.

The (only) highlight of the week!

Enjoy. Big mac ahoy.
