Sainsbury's Online Grocery Deliveries
- Christine (22nd Jan 2021 - 22:28:36)

Is anyone else in Liphook having problems getting delivery slots? I have shopped online with Sainsbury's for many years & now can't get a delivery slot at all, no matter how early in the morning I get up to try & book one. I can only surmise that, as the goods come from Farnham, which isn't a particularly large store, they are just snowed under. Sainsbury's Liphook do not do 'Click & Collect' either.

Hi
For click and collect you need to pop over to Alton.
Delivery is almost impossible unless you were already lucky enough to be signed up.
Probably more joy with Tesco who seem to be more obliging and more willing to help out.

Pathetic! I found this too. They make millions and can’t even provide a decent home delivery service or click and collect. We have to drive miles away.
More interested in lining the pocket of their shareholders. Vote with your feet plenty of other supermarkets maybe try them out.

It's not just Sainsbury's. Tesco and Asda are also fully booked. People just want to stay at home

I had the same problem if you go to delivery pass on the order page and pay for a pass you get a delivery slot you can choose between 3 months 6 or 1 year it’s much cheaper

I have a delivery pass and regular deliveries, but was also finding I was getting blank pages of delivery slots when I tried to book. I have found though, that if you choose the calendar, rather than the ‘’next 3 days’ tab, it seems to offer random slots on days and it’s worth scrolling through that and keeping checking as they randomly get released. Otherwise, if you can get there, there are loads of click and collect slots with Sainsburys Godalming (more than Alton) which is brilliant - they park the van in the little car park by the petrol station and it’s super efficient and socially distanced.

I guess James that as you are Liphook Talkback’s expert on absolutely everything you might be tempted to use some of your surplus time (you must have plenty given how often you are on Talkback) to offer your experience and skills to Sainsbury’s to help them more efficiently run their business. We are very fortunate to have someone of such intellectual superiority in the village to show us where so much is going wrong

You could try Morrison’s - I’ve had no trouble getting a regular delivery from them to Liphook and there always seems to be lots of spots available.

D
You my dear are a key board warrior with way to much time on your hands!
James didn’t say anything negative towards anyone on his reply and here you are attacking him for absolutely no reason at all! Grow up and get a hobby!

- Susie (23rd Jan 2021 - 23:50:10)

Helen,
I think D has a hobby,it’s “have a go at James “ ..
Regular posts poking at James comments.

So sad to see folks resorting to this behavior in the current times.
Seems D has too much time on his hands.
Sorry for him.

To be fair... James has worked so hard at getting everyone’s back up that even within this post which he is being entirely reasonable people still get wound up by him. It’s not benefiting the site when an ever present pro troll seems to have a hold over each and every post on this site

Re: Sainsbury's Online Grocery Deliveries
- D (24th Jan 2021 - 07:44:02)

Helen and Susie.

The D who posted on this thread concerning James's constant negative whining is not myself. I am the D whom James has referred to as "someone who promotes child abuse" (a comment I am currently taking legal advice on.)

I'm sure neither of you intended any malice towards me but if you read D's post it is quite obvious I didn't write it, the style is far more eloquent than my own. I do, however, agree with D's post. James is full of negative criticism but never any positive solutions.

I accept that you both made a genuine mistake in assuming D was me and that you both probably feel a bit sheepish now. I am willing to consider the matter closed.

The last time I contributed on this website was concerning my childhood experiences in Greenshield Stamps premises in Aldershot, hardly something to be condemned for.

But Helen, a bit more positivity, perhaps?

D

I have nothing to be sheepish about whatsoever.

If you must write with just an initial, which is you attempting to be anonymous then there are obviously consequences.

I am always surprised when comments are accepted with anonymous posts, why do you feel the need to hide I wonder.

As for your “legal advice”,simply laughable.
It’s a toy town web site, supposedly to support the local community, but oh so many of you on here are so quick to denigrate anybody, and more regularly it’s “James” who gets that, whoever he /she is!

Have a lovely day.

Re: Sainsbury's Online Grocery Deliveries
- Other James (24th Jan 2021 - 10:59:57)

Helen and Susie, something that D has done is he had a go at a different James, not the James he regularly has a go at (me). I must also agree that D is a keyboard warrior, Sainsbury's actually made about 150 million in profits after tax in 2020, so it's more than the millions James said.

D, I look forward to hearing from you about your "legal advice", unfortunately for you I will not withdraw my comment as it is factual. On the 18th August 2020 at 18:33 you said: "I think parents should be allowed to smack [...] children". That is child abuse. I would say you should get the editor to delete that post but it's the internet and copies have been made.

If you need to get into contact with me regarding your "legal advice" my email is here: atjamesiamsorry@gmail.com

Just a thought why don’t one of the Ds add a mark to their post to stop all the confusion.

I had to add rabbit to my name to avoid confusion.
I used to run a rabbit rescue, not just random :-)

Good idea, Rachel. It will save these embarrassing incidents of mistaken identity and maybe it will satisfy Susie as well. You suggest something and I'll use it.

Good idea, will now use Midas as my name
