SAINSBURYS
- david lush (11th Dec 2020 - 15:23:39)
My wife and I have been carrying out our weekly shop at sainsburys,Liphook for more years than we can remember. The staff there have always been unfailingly courteous and cheerful, particularly over the last 9 months during this dark period of Covid and we have nothing but praise for them.
We are therefore 100% agreed that they should close on Boxing Day as they all thoroughly deserve an extra day with their families after such a stressful year and we should like to take this opportunity to thank all of them for their excellent service in 2020.

Totally agree, I've said for years that the supermarkets should be closed those 2 days.

Quite agree with this comment, and how nice to read a good comment about Sainsburys and the cheerful, helpful staff. Happy Christmas to them all

The shops are only closed for one day but its amazing on the few days before Christmas to see how much people are stuffing in their trolleys as if they are going to be closed for a couple of weeks.

Absolutely agree with all the posts. I think the Sainsbury staff do a brilliant job and never more so than in this difficult and stressful year. They should not only get Boxing Day off but should receive a Christmas Bonus. Perhaps they do receive a bonus, I hope so.

Well said David, I'd like to extend your sentiments to all the other folk who have served the community through this 'annus horribilis'. If there's one thing the pandemic has done it is to remind us how much we are dependent on each other. The selfish, greedy culture that arose in the 1980s and 90s has to some extent been weakened with all but the stupidest realising that our worth is not measured by how much we have in the bank but by how much we do for others. There will always be someone less fortunate than ourselves. Let's think about them at Christmas and resolve to do something about it in the New Year. Happy Christmas to all.
