COVID & SCHOOLS
- H (15th Nov 2020 10:23:46)
We have just received another email from the School to say a student was in school with Covid19 symptoms during the infectious period when they shouldn't have been and now a large number of teaching staff have to isolate.
Please, covid idiots of liphook , keep your kids AT HOME if they have symptoms or are awaiting a test result (as is the case here it seems)
Some parents are at home going through Cancer treatment, think of other people for once !

I think youâll find that a person is contagious at least 2 days before showing symptoms , therefore, the student has every right to be in school until they display relevant symptoms. Please donât refer to people/parents as idiots until you know the facts as it makes you the idiot.
Yes lots of staff & students now need to isolate, but hey at the school are being proactive.

Maria,
Why would the school send out an email about a symptomless child attending school ?
The first post is suggesting this child was at school âknowinglyâ with symptoms and reminding parents to not send kids with symptoms to school.
As such I really donât get your response.
I second the idea that if any parent knowingly sends their child to school with symptoms they should be rightfully called an idiot.

I think you'll find as per the email that said student should NOT have been in school.
Idiot.

To Maria
" At the time of writing, based on the information received, the student who tested positive was in school during the infectious period according to government guidance. Therefore, we have contacted those students who have been deemed as being in âclose contactâ with the student on Wednesday 11 & Thursday 12 November, and they have been instructed to self-isolate for 14 days from these dates. We also write to reinforce the message that, as stated in our letter sent on Monday 9 November, it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that if a member of your household is displaying ANY ONE of the three COVID-19 associated symptoms, you DO NOT send your child to school and the household MUST self-isolate until a negative COVID-19 test is received for the symptomatic householder member(s). We have again spent considerable time at the weekend tracing the close contacts of a student who should not have been in school. Furthermore, a significant number of staff and students are having to self-isolate. We do not wish to be the nanny state neither do we wish to become the âCovid Policeâ. We absolutely do, however, wish to keep our school open and children learning as so much school time has been lost already. The self-isolation rules around COVID-19 associated symptoms are not Bohuntâs rules but a legally enforceable code - there is a minimum ÂŁ1,000 fine for leaving self-isolation when the guidance mandates you remain."
