Police Outside Top Chef - Jana (6th Jul 2011 - 23:47:43) Evening All, Just driven home past the Top Chef Chinese Takeaway in Station Road and noticed FOUR police cars parked all over the road. They have sealed off the Top Chef with blue police tape :( Anyone know whats going on?

I gather that there were armed police on the scene at some stage and the helicopter was over for a long time. A bit worrying for the other businesses open late in Station Road. Hope this isn't a trend.

Just heard that a friend who lives a few miles away had her house broken into while they were asleep and her handbag was taken. They tried to get the car going but couldn't get it started and moved further down the road where they managed to get the car going and drove away.

Detectives charge three people in connection with series of robberies in Liphook Press Releases Published: 18/07/2011 Detectives in Alton have charged two men and a 16-year-old girl in connection with a series of robberies in Liphook and Surrey. This comes after officers from Hampshire Constabulary carried out two raids in the Liphook area on Friday, July 15. Three people were arrested and an imitation firearm believed to have been used in the robberies has been recovered. Liam Cannon, aged 20, of Fairway Close, Liphook, and Mathew Martell, aged 18, of Kiln Avenue, Haslemere, Surrey, have subsequently been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and firearms offences. A 16-year-old girl from Liphook, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery. All three appeared at Alton magistrates court today and were remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court on August 1. Re: Police Outside Top Chef - Phil (22nd Jul 2011 - 15:03:11) Delighted to hear they were caught. Just mulling over the fact that the 16 year old can't be named for legal reasons, yet clearly she appears to have been involved in serious crimes - her age didn't bother her then, did it!
