PYO Ready yet?
- Sharon (4th Jul 2011 - 11:03:36)

Hi, I'm looking for a PYO strawberries/raspberries that's ready now. Country Market opens on Wednesday, but aren't keen on toddlers picking strawvberries because they are on on raised bars - and are worried about them falling off onto younger children! Avalon aren't ready yet. Anywhere else?

Just had this email from Durleigh Marsh Farm, (just down the Midhurst Road from Petersfield - A272) brilliant place - lovely farm thick cream to go with them:

We are now open for PYO Dessert Gooseberries at £4.50/kg! We still have Raspberries, Currants, Strawberries, Tayberries and Loganberries as well as new crop Broad Beans, Calabrese and Courgettes. We are open from 9am-7pm every day and Wednesdays is discount day with 10% off all PYO prices.
During the Hampshire Food Festival 1st- 31st July if you pick £10 or more of any PYO crops you can get a free Blackburne and Haynes ice-cream on production of a HFF programme!

We strawberry picked with my 3 year old and my 1 1/2 year old there a few weeks ago. They were wonderful - really helpful. Worth taking a buggy as it is quite a walk sometimes for little ones to get to the strawberries.

Yes, as above go to Durleighmarsh, they are great down there.

There isn't a lot of Strawberries at the moment but there are lots and lots of Raspberries, Tayberries and Gooseberries.
They do have a second crop of Strawberries August time.

I think Secrets at Milford is open now and they def don't mind toddlers, we spent most of last year there!
