Fire
- Charley (5th Sep 2020  20:54:35)

Where's the three day old fire burning in the south of the village?

Re: Fire
- D (6th Sep 2020  07:13:06)

Where exactly is this fire you have seen?

Re: Fire
- Nicky (6th Sep 2020  13:16:29)

There was quite a fire going yesterday at a house on Gunns Farm. It was at one of the houses on the left as you enter.

Re: Fire
- Tim (6th Sep 2020  13:42:59)

It's coming from Gunns Farm. From a property near the main road. We're into day 4 of it now.

Re: Fire

really bad and inconsiderate

Re: Fire
- BF (8th Sep 2020  08:03:45)

An inconsiderate person towards the end of Hollycombe Close is the culprit of the awful huge bonfire. A massive hedge has been cut down and burnt .Windows had to remain shut and no washing could be hung out.

Forget about inconsiderate
Forget about not being able to put your washing out
Forget about having to close windows

People are DYING of a lung disease called COVID-19

Anything that irritates the respiratory system is a potential death sentence for people susceptible to bronchitis, asthma and a host of other conditions.

I don't know who or where these people are, but tell them to take their rubbish to the tip (yes, you have to make an appointment and wait a week, but it's quick and painless).

Death by pneumonia is not quick and painless.

If you had of opened this topic with the word Bonfire as opposed to just fire you would have won a Toyota as "Bonfire" its the most popular word on this forum.

Re: Fire

Fair play to the guy, keeping a bonfire going for four days takes some doing.

Re: Fire
- Sue (9th Sep 2020  14:27:57)

Visiting my mum today,so who is the inconsiderate idiot who has a huge bonfire at Passfield Common, for the second day running?

Great plumes of horrible smoke drifting across gardens, through open windows and washing lines.....just astonishing in the current times we are.

FFS take it to the dump, yes you must book an appointment, but so what, don’t be so damned stupid and selfish.
The bottom of a garden is not the place for a huge bonfire.!!

Re: Fire
- Ann (9th Sep 2020  14:54:39)

Sue, benefit of the doubt maybe they don`t have transport to get to the dump!!

Re: Fire
- Charlie (9th Sep 2020  21:27:50)

Nobody should be having bonfires at the moment. It's annoying at the best of times, but during a pandemic it's just totally irresponsible and dangerous. Please think about your neighbours.

Re: Fire
- Sue (9th Sep 2020  21:57:54)

Re Ann

Not an excuse for a bonfire!
Perhaps you should check out EHDC website before making such comments,

Just another excuse for selfish actions.

Re: Fire
- AF (11th Sep 2020  22:51:54)

Alot of people are getting hot under the collar about bonfires, i personally have no problems with them. What about those people with solid fuel fires in their home burning coal and wood, these produce smoke are you also anti these people.
