Could anyone please provide recommendations of driving instructors in the area that you were happy with their services?
Many thanks

Hi there
I really really really recommend think driving school!
There’s a lovely lady lives in liphook called Geniene who covers local areas or a lady in bordon callled Ashley Allen who covers local areas too! They have a website and facebook.
Do look them up. They do deals on driving
Hope this helps
Hannah

My daughter has just finished an intensive course with Roadcraft Intensive Courses- Michael Lawrence 07973 815577/ 01252 299002. She had previously had a string of unsatisfactory instructors, but Michael was brilliant. She passed her test at the first attempt.

Not a recommendation of a driving instructor as such, my son has recently finished his lessons and there are 250,000 people in the queue for a test. 15,000 places are released every 6 weeks. The DVLA website crashes minutes after the places become available. Problem is a backlog from March when lockdown started, and reduced capacity of test centres due to Covid restrictions. Simple maths suggests unless capacity increases (costly so unlikely) or Covid restrictions end (haha), it will take on average 2 years to get a test. The average pass rate is less than 50%. So maybe that’s 4 years to get a driving licence. Hopefully Cv19 will be over by then.
In summary, I would recommend not even starting on the journey of lessons and a driving test. It ain’t gonna happen. Save yours and your kids hard earned cash, and start at a future date. Well in the future.

Although the DVSA system is struggling to cope with the number of applications, it is possible to get test dates, my teen son's friends booked on Wednesday when it reopened. The next date is 1st Sept so not 6 weeks apart. You may not get your choice of test centre but bookings can be made, you just have to get on at 8am!!
Anyway you cannot book a test until you have passed your theory test.

Well done Sarah, my son was on website at exactly 0800 and was 48,000 in queue. He tried again later and was 250,000 in queue. One of his friends managed to get inside the top 15,000 and once at the booking stage discovered all Guildford and Aldershot slots were gone. Apparently they went within minutes. The number don’t lie, unless you are fastest fingers on the buzzer and prepared to travel to Scotland for a test, it will take forever to clear the backlog. With 250,000 people waiting, plus another 1000 people a day finishing their lessons and wanting a test....( basing the 1000 people a day on the death rate in the U.K., assuming for every person that dies another one turns 17). Good luck though!
