A Cautionary note
- k (17th Aug 2020  13:48:44)

I talked to my Sister at the weekend - she has been self isolating since COVID 19 started & is still doing so - to my extreme concern at the age of 67 she has contracted Mumps - her shopping is delivered Bi weekly by the supermarket with the odd top up by a very kind friend who does not have symptoms of Mumps or children ( - she does not live locally. ) My only conclusion can be that she contracted this from droplets either deposited by someone coughing on products or by them being touched by persons that had been in contact with droplets ie person touching products, delivery driver etc - We will never know - Mumps is spread in the same way as colds and flu: through infected droplets of saliva that can be inhaled or picked up from surfaces and transferred into the mouth or nose.
She is quote seriously ill - but draw the Parallels with Covid - Please only handle items to a minimum when shopping - yes I realise you need to check dates & info - But You don't have to pick up every item of the product to do that - Please think about others before you refuse to use a mask or have to handle everything in sight

I hope Susie reads this post. k That said I am very sorry that sister, on top over everything else, has caught mumps. I hope that she recovers fully and quickly.

This is why it is impossible to stop germs, bacteria and viruses from spreading. People have to open their post and people have put the letters in the envelope, notice how we are all still getting bills.! There are so many ways of picking things up. There is no way you can be protected unless you are in a space suit.
It is about time people realised this and accept that we have to get back to normality for the country.

K, so sorry to hear about your poor sister. I wish her all the very best and hope she's well soon. Perhaps if kids were all vaccinated? Don't want to stir things but ....?
