Horse on Former OSU Site
- Phil (30th Jun 2011 - 07:30:00)

It may have been a long day at work, but I'm fairly certain I saw a horse tied up (chained, actually) on the former OSU site last night.

I did wonder how we feel about it being there - i.e. is it appropriate for it to be there (i.e. who obtained permission from who), and if it is a suitable site for a horse - i.e. is it safe, what food can it reach, etc.

I think the horse was chained up, again I did wonder if that is right for the animal. It did not appear in ill health. White and brown horse.

Did not come out that way this morning - is anyone else aware, or was it just me and a 'bad day' in meetings?!

I also spotted the horse while walking home from the station. The horse is chained up but within reach of what looks to be a large bucket of (presumably) water.

Looks like the horse that used to be on the bank between the cornfields (Lowsley farm) and the bypass. If it is, I saw the owner once and he said he had several horses in various places (Petersfield, Bordon etc). That horse did always seem to have a large bucket of water (apart from the time it had kicked it over or when it froze and we took the ice out).

Hope he has the same here and plenty of greenery to munch on.
