Old Post Office
- Steve (21st Apr 2020 - 06:50:26)

Hi
Does anyone know what the Old Post Office in the Square is going to be once the refurb is completed

I believe this is going to be an architect specialising in heritage sites. They are going to bring that shop back to its original state too which will be great. Shame they couldn’t have taken the old Anchor Garage which just becomes more and more of an eyesore 🙄

Which building is this? I thought the old Post Office was the former HSBC building next to the Green Dragon. Flora Thompson's era.

Oh, there. Thanks Nicky. I never knew it was a Post office once but I do remember when the doctor's surgery was directly opposite (now Carla's?) and you entered it via the steps on the side of the building adjacent to the road to the side of Lloyd's Bank.

That's jogged my memory, "Greathurst Carpets." It was painted in large letters vertically outside the shop. I can't remember what it was when we used to queue for petrol from the pumps there.
