Pilates? Exercise? Chocolate? - Jay (9th Jun 2011 - 21:30:05)
Can anyone recommend a local pilates or similar exercise class for beginners that would suit a couple of ladies who have been so busy running round after everyone else, they have forgotten to take care of themselves? Middle aged spread is upon us and we don't like it!
Has anyone tried Curves in Petersfield?
Not so good with the fast paced aerobic dance routines - being expert multi-taskers does not necessarily mean we can make our arms and legs perform different acrobatics at the same time :(
Hi i have not tried the one in petersfield but did try the curves in Waterlooville.
Its ok...you are only allowed to do a 30min session though. They basically have lots of machines set up in a large circle. You do a minute or two on each machine then you all move round to the next one. It does work up a sweat and gives you a bit of general exercise, but if you wanted to have a chit chat whilst exercising or wanted to dedicate a session to targeting a specific area of your body then its not the place for that.
Sadly Helen will not be continuing her Pilates class at the MIlenium Hall. Very sad because she is the best teacher in the world. I know she will be continuing her one-on-one sessions.
As a result I will be putting my leotard into retirement ! And after a 4 year search I am officially giving up the hunt for my pelvic floor !!
I am a big fan of Pilates as it has sorted much of my body out - and help me be the lean mean fighting machine I am now :-) I dont know Auriol Thorne but must be well worth checking it out.
