Miss England Charity - help
- Louise (31st May 2011 - 15:06:16)

Hi everyone!

I have made it through to the semi-finals of Miss England!! and would like to raise money for the official Miss World charity 'Beauty with a purpose', an amazing charity which helps underprivilaged children from around the world.

I need to find anyone who is willing to help me raise some money for an amazing cause, whether it being a cake sale, a raffle, a read-a-thon etc. Every bit counts.

I would also like to no who i could contact to set up these kind of events.

If anyone can help i would be so greatful. Thank you
Louise

Here she is www.missengland.info... and here is a previous thread from Louise Please Help

Why don't you come along to the Fun Day on 3rd July. You could help us out on the various stalls that we run or you could organise something for yourself and we could make a contribution to one of your charities. You could do some autograph signing etc for us in return!

It's all good PR for you!

My number is 01428 723971 if you are interested.

Well Heeeellloooo Louise,

I think this is fab idea, and I would be delighted to sacrifice a few hours from my daily body sculptoring routine down at Kings gym to discuss over a drink (from my very full or empty drinks cabinet depending on which thread you read !!).

However, I think Finchesse might object !!!

So on a serious note...

Karen is a fund raising dynamo, so you should get involved anyway - and you will learn from the godess. But another idea, given you want to do something by the 13th - only a week away. I am guessing you want to let the judges know what a fab fundraiser you are - but this won\'t differentiate you from the other beauties, who I am sure will all \"raise lots of money for charity, love animals and children etc etc.\".

So... sign up for something truly amazing or challenging. Much better to be able to say \"Next year I am trekking across Africa for a month to raise money for disadvantaged children\".

There are many organisations that arrange these trips/challenges. One I was involved with over many years was the Wooden Spoon Rugby Charity, raising money for disadvantaged kids and they do many interesting challenges (I personally enjoyed the Great Lakeland Challenge - canoe the length of Lake Windermere, cycle up the two steepest passes in UK and then run up Scarfell Pike). And yes, there were a number of female teams. It\'s no coincidence that my body is a temple and my body fat percentage is in single digits !!!

The trick is to do something you are interested in, and passionate about. Doesn\'t need to be physical - just different - and a challenge. Oh ! and make sure you do it, not just sign up for it !!

Needless to say if you complete it you\'ll get a big donation from me. Better still, if you choose a physical challenge, I am available as a training partner - an added incentive ;-)

Another top tip: Don\'t wear a red top and blue jeans. While casually browsing (intensely studying) the link the Editor posted, it seems that half of the beauties were wearing the same.

Good luck !

A very Happy Weekend to all (amazing how quickly things turn around !!).

Cheers, Finchie
PS Don\'t forget to big up Liphook and let the judges know the Liphook Massive are all behind you !!
