"London Road is Revolting !"
- "Napoleon" Cooper (28th May 2011 - 13:31:56)

Citizens Revolutionary Committee of London Road, Cul de Sac
Statement of Intent
We hereby give notice, given the concerted intent of Militant Jamahiriya of the Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council, led by “the unelected Colonel”, to overturn the democratic will of the people, that with effect of the1st July 2011, our picturesque corner will cede from the Parish of Bramshott and Liphook to become the Independent Republic of London Road Cul de Sac, IRCdeS.

The People voted.
They elected their chosen representatives and sent packing, those they felt had continually let the people down. Now there is a cabal seeking to re-impose those who have been roundly defeated, by co-option. This is scandalous, outrageous and not to be tolerated.

This cabal is
1. Undemocratic in the use of previously conceived undemocratic decisions.
2. Unethical in that it usurps the morality of English Justice
3. Insulting to the electorate, who have voted and paid to have their voices heard with optimism

Those who have expertise to contribute, may be consulted at any stage and their views taken into account or not, by elected representatives. The people reserve the right to throw out those who do not perform.

For too long have those under “the unelected Colonel’s” boot been cowed. If the Parish as whole will not act; If the new representatives remain powerless to exercise control and those who side with reprehensible activity continue to operate in autocracy, then we the CRC of LRCdeS will act.

From the 1st of July we may declare Independence, to become known as “Benghazi Boulevard”. In international brotherhood, we are seeking and receiving gestures of support from around the world and international organisations such as NATO. Should we come under direct assault, we serve notice of our acceptance through personal contacts, of attack helicopters in defensive support.

Although Radford Park may become the front line in any aggression by the Colonel’s henchmen, we assure all friends and neighbours in Bramshott & Liphook of a warm welcome to our new independent republic.

Oh BLPC! To avoid this drastic action, we seek the following changes by end of June 2011.
1. Restoration of the proper democratic process in BLPC
2. Restoration of the military wing of the BLPC to proper democratic employment procedures
3. Full and published acceptance that BLPC, its Councillors and “employees” remain servants of the community and not as its feudal leaders.

Signed, “Napoleon” Cooper,
de facto leader of the CRC LR Cul de Sac,
“Le Grand Cul”

Now we know where Finchie's drink cabinet went to .....:)

If it means a reduction in council tax this could spread further than just the London Road! Council meetings could be held in the Anchor!

Man (or Woman) the barricades.
Hopefully the elected councillors will overcome the employed staff of the council and good sense will prevail.

No barricades, the white gates are needed for our border post. And we are not members of the Schengen Agreement either!

Methinks there is a serious and heart felt message behind the retoric. And so should there be!
The election of co-opted members of Council committees and working parties should be through the process of public engagement and common sense and not the rule book of the commissariat as stipulated by the would be apparatchiks.
The Council should be given the opportunity to invite interested people to put themselves forward and after enquiry as to the skills/benefits they bring select a vibrant and progressive committee.
The community deserves the best.

Phil,

Using the language of the revolution you elegantly state the case for the honourable course of action.

Should we be forced to assume independence, please consider yourself invited to address our first Eisteddfod.

Napo, le Grand cul
