Alarming!

I've been reading in the papers that a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has just invented a robotic alarm clock that jumps off the bedside table when it goes off and runs around the bedroom being noisy and generally annoying, so you have no choice but to get up to sort it out. He's called it 'Clocky'.
Actually I could have saved him a lot of trouble because I've had different versions of this clock for years. I call it 'Cat'!!

I have one already as well that runs around being noisy and annoying and I have to get up to 'sort him out'- I call mine "husband..."

We have one that used to go off every three hours. Finally it fixed itself and settled for a regular "going off" time of 5.30am but now refuses to go off at all. We call ours "teenage son".
