New Parish Council - Cath (19th May 2011 - 12:54:43) Hi. We all had the option of going to the polling station earlier this month and participate in electing our new Parish Council. Previously on this site there has been a whole lot of personal nastiness from members of the council and voters. I wondered if the Council and the owner of this site would be willing that we have a separate Parish Council area. People could post up queries, questions to do with things that the Parish Council are involved in and one of the members could answer on behalf of the Council. Personalities are to be kept out of it. These people are busy people, representing us and when they respond they should do so in a proper manner when it comes to council business. If they want to respond or comment on anything on a personal level then they still can. But we will know if the response is in the Parish area of this site - it is coming from them as our representative. Maybe I am not explaining myself well. I just think that it is time that we treat our council like professionals and they respond in the same manner. Hi Cath, there is of course exactly that already - its called the Parish Council web site. But it needs people within the PC to update and run it properly - that is the issue. Running liphook.co.uk is surprising time consuming and only works because I'm in the 'industry'.

If I were them, I wouldn't be making any sort of comment on any issue - just making sure the site is up-to-date and pointing people to the facts on the site - rather than get themselves involved in any mud slinging or making comments that might come back and bite them on the bum!
