PC 1st Meeting. This Monday. - Dawn Hoskins (15th May 2011 - 20:39:27) Dear all The 1st meeting of the newly voted Parish Council is this Monday night. Many people have made general points on this site, but I have not received any formal questions to submit. I understand why people don't always want to attend stuffy meetings, but if you want your question to be answered you must submit it. For those who will attend, I hope that you will find a new and more friendly, more receptive, and more open council - who you feel comfortable about approaching to ask questions.

This Monday. - liz (16th May 2011 - 08:34:44) Dawn, I think somebody has already requested this but what many would like to know is exactly how our money has been spent over the last five years, or longer if possible. However I doubt you will be allowed to provide this in any detail. Thanks.

However, from inspecting last years - there is no mention of the items that I wanted to find out ! I am sure that they have to be signed off as 'true and accurate' so the particular items I wish to see must be on record somewhere? I will try to get to the bottom of this and report back. Meanwhile you can go to the parish office and ask for a copy of the accounts and they should provide them. It is possible that they are on the website? Will need your full name to submit the question for you and get it on record. You can e-mail me for that if you wish. Dawn

Re: PC 1st Meeting. This Monday. - liz (16th May 2011 - 12:45:59) I have found something called the 'interim audit' on the PC website, is this as much detail as you get? No more than money in money out and... spot the error! OK its only a minor one but wouldn't get past Companies House.

This Monday. - dawn (16th May 2011 - 13:22:45) Michael I am glad that you will be coming and I hope that you will feel able to ask questions without feeling uncomfortable - and that you will receive full answers to your queries. If not immediately then in the post. But please be patient with us as many of us are newbies! I agree that we need to concentrate of forming a fully open and transparent council for the future. However there is bound to be phases of 'Storming' 'Forming' and 'Norming'. I just hope that the 'Storming' isn't too stormy!! No doubt us 'Newbies' will be on the receiving end of negative press by our friends at the Herald (Tindle Group), and I imagine that we won't be able to right whatever we do as far as the Herald is concerened. I urge you all to attend as much as possible so you can all make up your own minds about what happens at these meetings. None of us are actually related to the Devil so if you hear of us being portrayed as such please be open minded!

Re: PC 1st Meeting. This Monday. - heather (16th May 2011 - 15:59:00) Dawn, as you are now an elected Parish Councillor does this not make you the "devils" employer?. Is it wise to berate an employee on a public forum? There goes another £8000 in compensation.
