Village Web Cam
- Paul Robinson (12th Apr 2005 - 14:18:21)

Listeners to the Archers will know that Ambridge has it's very own web cam revealing the daily going's on around the village green.

Haslemere's web site also has one situated on the Town Hall focused on the High Street.

Is it time for Liphook to shed it's inhibitions and erect a web cam to record the daily tooing and froings in the village? Where should it go I wonder and what would it see!

Alex's house, the Royal anchor, Sainsburys car park and dotted about the square. That way we could get all the people causing grief then name and shame them in the herald.

We could have a great big screen up on the side of the anchor with pictures of troublemakers, with phone numbers for people to phone and identify them or if already known small snippets of embaressing facts about them including their names to get everyone laughing at them.

It could work, but probably wouldn't.

Steve - you've totally won me over :D) Would the council pay for a few n all-weather cams streamed live from liphook.co.uk? Great press for them....

We could have public floggings aswell

Re: Village Web Cam

I'm all for public flogging - in fact i'm surprised the Tories haven't included it in their super-attractive common-sense 28 page manifesto.

May i suggest we start by rounding up as many chavs as we can find and move directly to burning at the stake? Harsh, but fair i think. ;)

Please can I submit the first candidates for the public flogging? - walking home past Sainsburys last night at 7.45 with my family we were verbally abused by a large group of chav yobs (my son's words) -it was really disturbing and we daren't retalliate as there was too many of them. They weren't much older than my own son of 12.
Put the web cam there so their parents (if they have any) can see what the little darlings are up to!

Can I suggest buying a tank or Volvo and using the never fails policy of run over on sight? The police will turn a blind eye to that surely?

I thought those little scrotes were going to be kept away with an ASBO or two? Interesting to note that Sainsburys have done sweet FA to help- no security guards, no CCTV or anything else. Is it because any of those things would admit liability on their part?

I went past at 7.45pm tonight and didn't see anyone, so i guess they were all at home doing chores or homework. I think both of you are right - flogging and/or shooting would seem appropriate. Either that or some of the more creative solutions we mentioned before...

Hi Paul - just thought I'd tell you that Exmouth has a great moving web.cam with 20 different places, so next time you go there you can check on the weather! The sea looks lovely and blue this morning...wish I was there:-) www.exmouthcam.co.uk

Some of you might find it amusing to go to www.exmouthcam.co.uk and download the clip from Australian news Channel 9. Just shows you that Big Brother really is watching us, as the presenter says!!
