I have just taken home a VERY large bag of items which was left outside in the elements rather than the items being put inside the charity bin.
The bag wasn't waterproof. I will launder and take the items to the charity shop.
Please don't leave things outside either the charity shops themselves, or the charity bin in this weather as they just go moldy and have to be thrown away. My sons and I cleared up about 20 full bin liners of clothing last year which we laundered and then re-donated to the refugee organization - although a lot of it was already moldy and had to go to landfill.
Please don't allow useable clothing to go to landfill, particularly as approx 60% of clothing is now made from plastic derivatives which cannot biodegrade. Please, give it to charity. If you are unable to get to a charity shop, email me I will collect it and take it in for you.
As a point of interest, do we know what company is in charge of the green bin outside the CO-OP - I heard recently that it was actually shipped out and SOLD by businesses [not charites] as a profit earner - so not as charitable as we thought? Any information on this would be much appreciated.

there is a big yellow bin at liphook fire station for your unwanted clothes.
this charity is for uk firefighters to help them get fit and back to work asap
if they get injured or sick at work.Thank you all.

If you have clothes and shoes how about using the salvation army bin at the back of the car park next to the peak centre. It has appeared in the last couple of weeks and is a great cause plus it's always empty unlike the one in Sainsburys recycling area. Also is the firefighters bin one that sells the goods to a company as textiles? Ir would be a shame to give perfectly good shoes and clothes to a place that wont give them to people who desperately need them.

Great to see more charity bins - that are actual charities.
But can anyone give me info on who runs the company for the bin outside the coop?
BTW - ~(just in case the person who left the bag of stuff is reading this) the wet items have all been washed, dried and taken to the Cancer Research shop.
