Tracing FORD Family
- Kate (6th May 2011 - 14:28:09)
Hello,
I'm trying to find out more about my great great grandmother Annie Ford born 1874.
I have quite a lot of information about her but very little about her parents/ family. I have a document which is a will made by William Ford in 1871, saying that his land (in Selbourne) would be left to his son David. I have no idea who William or his son are, they do not fit in with any possible families I have found for Annie.
We also know that Annie had a sister, Alice.
I also have several old postcards of Liphook - one written to Annie's Daughter, Nellie. It has a picture of an old cottage on Queen Street (I think). Apparently Annie's parents lived there in their old age.
There are lots of connections to Liphook but no solid facts about Annie's parents/grandparents at all.
If anyone knows anything at all it would be an enormous help to me and my family. The Ford side of the family tree has had us scratching our heads for hours.
If you would prefer to email me my adddress is katedyer@ymail.com
Thanks
Kate

Hi
I live in the Haslemere Road, which used to be called Queen street, if you can post a picture on here of the house I or my family may be able to help you. Have you tried Adrian Bird he has dealings with the Preservation Society and may be able to point you in the right direction.
Good Luck with your search.

Hi Kate,
I know a family who have lived and worked in Selborne/Blackmoor, forever it seems, by the name of Ford.
Mike does all sorts of agricultural and forestry work in this area and is very well know in his field (sic) I suspect the old bu***r was around in 1874.
I have left a message on his mobile ansaphone and will email you his number if he he’s ok with that.
Good Luck
Jock Trodden

Does anyone know where this is/was in Liphook? I have a postcard addressed to it but cannot find it now. It may have changed its name. Thanks,
Lyn

Hi
As I said before Queen Street is now Haslemere Road the first bit past the garage), I would be interested to know the address you have, as my family have lived here for quite a few generations.
Thanks
Dee
