If you are an honest Liphook resident and voter, with a care for local democracy and a desire to be represented by honest, respectable servants of the community in the form of Parish Councillors, that means you. Cllr Nigel Newman has read out a pre prepared, carefully worded statement at the last full meeting of Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council on Monday 18th April fundamentally exonerating himself of the “false and defamatory” allegations made against him, as reported by the The Herald”this week. I consider it only fair that I ought to be given the opportunity to put forward my own statement in relation to the matters as I am the person who asked 3 pertinent questions of the then “Chairman”. Today I will deal with the second and third of these questions below. Please see my own website for the answer to Question 1. This is a transcript of what happened at the Parish Council meeting. 2: Is it right for example for the Chairman of a Local Council to extend his home without planning permission? NN has done just that and this matter is currently being investigated by EHDC. (He Answered “That’s nonsense”) 3: Have you ever buried loads of skip waste in the garden of your home, Alderwood Cottage? (He replied “No never That is complete nonsense” I have always though it is hypocritical of any person to set the rules for others and ignore the same rules themselves. Cllr Chairman Nigel Newman was also on the planning committee deciding applications by you residents. Yet I saw with my own eyes he demolished up to 75% of his own dilapidated colonial style home to slab level, Alderwood, Queens Road, Liphook. He rebuilt it on the same footprint (save for the extension conservatory which has been added) without the necessary planning permission of the day or building control involvement. Hypocritical? You decide. Now, whatever Newman’s supporters may say this is an indisputable fact and there are dozens more affidavits to support this fact should he decide to go forward with his ridiculous current “Claim for defamation” against me”. I am not afraid, nor will ever be intimadated of bullies and henchmen. Newman, James, Tough and Amey MUST GO.
