Parish Council Canditates - Nick (3rd May 2011 - 18:56:51) Having read all the proposals from the canditates for the Parish Council can someone please explain/tell l why there are so many District Councillors standing for the parish as well as district. I always thought that the counillors on a Parish Council were not affiliated to any political party and are there as individuals,representing the local people. Seems in this case i am wrong,(or i am i after thursday.). i have noted the proposals that the prospective candidates have made/promised and i shall with great care decide who i can trust and vote accordingly and hope and pray the the new council will be run in accordance of the rules and regs that are current and get on withwhat they are there for and not waste oyr money on trivial things. Having served as a councillor prior to my move to Liphook my policy was listen carefully to what is being said with in the parish talk to people and have an unbiased approach (i think this called democracy which we havent got in liphook)
