Having tried the anchor yesterday due to the charity event of a great cause, I was wondering if we visited on a bad day??
The new landlord came across so arrogant, rude and lazy.
Such a shame as the pub could be great for the village!
I visited at Christmas and it was super, I had hopes it had been restored to the former glory!
Why can’t they just get a decent landlord in there :(

You are definitely not alone with these thoughts all I saw was some bloke plodding around with his face painted looking like shrek not doing a thing .Oh yes he was he was taking selfies of himself while everyone waited at the bar to be served

You need to bring this to the attention of Greene King.
The trouble with chain pubs like these is that the "landlords" are really no such thing. They have no real stake in the pubs they manage and can be moved from pub to pub very rapidly.

I couldn’t agree more ! We were up there for the same thing and were absolutely horrified by the attitude of the man. The landlord came across as the most arrogant stuck up pig I have every come across in there and I’ve been drinking there for years and years. Not really good for someone who’s just taken over the place ! Complete disgrace. Too busy worrying about his face paint “selfies” to help out the poor woman behind the bar (who lets face it needed help ! ) Shocking ! I came away feeling it was a bit of a freak show up there now if I’m honest I won’t be rushing back

If there is an issue why not use liphook and bramshott social club. They have live music tomorrow night and a huge raffle with some amazing prizes. You dont have to be members either and its free entry with a donation to help give the club a cash injection to secure its future.
Did you know its on the brink of closing because it is not being used enough by its members. Pop in during the week they are showing the football and the drinks are cheaper than a pub everyone is welcome

We took our children there for their tea yesterday. It is pretty good value and you can feed a family for £30 and be full for about 3 days afterwards.
However. We sat in the garden because ours are quite free range and appreciate the trees to climb in. The garden looked like it had been trashed...there were broken tables and chairs all over the place.
Whoever is running the place really needs to look after it and keep it tidy. It's never going to be a fine dining establishment but that's why we all go there.
It's rough around the edges and has a cheerful cheapness about it. It just needs to be clean and tidy.

Re complaining to Greene king... I did and it was the Manager of the anchor that called me up and was rude on the phone to me, I voiced my concerns and he was having none of it, hes under the impression hes doing a wonderful job! Deluded!

Ref Alex. When I made contact through the Greene king website the area manager phoned me and was insistent that all my personal information was strictly confidential. Maybe they have had so many complaints they are fed up with it and have decided to let him clear up his own mess.

Yes - have also expressed my disappointment / complained about my food at the anchor, the manager / landlord, is a [removed]! To put it politely!!!
