A master at Liphook School in the late 60s

His name was John Kitchin. A brilliant golfer who in about 1969 had an "accident" as it is referred to by some. "Attempted suicide" claim others. Apparently he fell, or jumped off a railway bridge and spent the rest of his life in a wheel chair. Are there any inhabitants who can enlighten me into what actually happened back then as it is a period of his live shrouded in mystery?
