Mobile Signal
- Vic Pires (14th Apr 2011 - 11:30:26)

I've been stuck with o2 for a while now and it's time for a change. Anyone know how other networks compare in terms of signal in the village and if there are any that should really be avoided?

Vodafone is by far the best in Liphook, I have done many studies in the past and trailed most company's. VF do still have some dead spots so worth checking your home location but if you do find your home is on a dead spot you can install a sure signal which will give you a 3G connection in and around your home.

I got one last year when we had issues in the area and its great.

I have Vodafone and have no problems with signal in Liphook and have had no problems with customer service either.

Never had any problem using my Orange mobile. Only place it always cuts out is when I pass one particular point on Haslemere Road near the Linchmere turn-off.

tesco. its brilliant. there is coverage everywhere. It may sound like Vicky Pollards choice of network but truly it wont let you down. If youre PAYG, if you top up 20 pounds a month you will get 60 pounds credit. Not sure about contract deals. Ive had orange, voda, tmob and o2, but tesco, to me, is undoubtedley the best. Hope this helps!

I presume this is a wind up. Tesco of course does not have its own network, it uses O2.

O2 have been having so many issues with there network due to age, it was only about 18 months ago liphook had a black out for nearly a month. Stay clear of them.

We have had no problem with Orange, it works very well, with a good signal in Liphook.

Strangely, whilst Orange users are mostly happy with their service, Virgin users (on the same network, wittily called ‘Everything Everywhere’) find the signal is erratic at best. One person I know in Longmoor Road has had no signal at home for weeks. My Motorola won’t work indoors though my wife’s Samsung, also on Virgin, will. It seems to depend not only on the network but the model of phone you use.
Best advice is to reserve the right to cancel if you don’t get a good service.
