The 13 bus
- Barbara (8th Mar 2019 - 09:27:10)

Recently my sons bus to college has either not turned up at all or been extremely late. Cannot get through to anybody at stagecoach. Anyone else had similar experiences? Have tried emailing but not much good when you need to know where bus is.

It's a mess!
I tried to phone Stagecoach last week to inquire about the new timetable. I could not get through to a human and was directed to call Travel line at 12p a minute!
I had initially been very excited about the new route incorporating Haslemere. Now I wish the bus would go back to the way it was as the whole thing is totally shambolic.

Totally agree, the service is worse than ever. Again this morning the service was cancelled leaving my daughter and her group of friends having to phone round parents to see who can take them to college.

On trying to contact Stagecoach you get option after option and no Human being to speak to. Emails go unanswered. Not impressed.

The traffic in Haslemere is always bad in Weyhill and that's not an excuse for the bus companies who should know that and factor it in, but overall the bus to Haslemere will be a great asset to Liphook and a solution that doesn't call for it to be scrapped after a couple of weeks or so needs to be found.

May I suggest that in the first instance you write to the bus company concerned. You may also want to see a copy of that letter (or Email) to the Traffic Commissioner who covers Hampshire -(gov.uk/government/organisations/traffic-commissioners/...).

The TC is the regulator for buses and can deal with these sorts of issues.

Can't believe the no 13 bus timetables. Been a while since I used it and should have checked but no bus from the station anymore and now every 2 hours wtf?

Had to be home so walked 3.5 miles as all the taxi companies were doing school runs.

Surely a bus that links with the train is a basic service? Really annoyed about this.

The bus service to Havant and South Downs college has been reduced and the first bus now arrives at college at 0915 the problem is classes start at 0900.

My son was hoping to go there not good news about the bus!

I wonder if those who find no problem with the number 13 bus, are all car owners or have access to lifts etc!
As a disabled woman without a car, the number 13 bus is a lifeline.
Try relying solely on this resource for a week and then come back and comment.
This is not directed at anyone in particular, rather a bit of a rant at what is after all, an unacceptable situation.

May I just say. Although the Service has its ups and downs, on a whole its a good service. Most of the Drivers are friendly, especially the Portsmouth Ones. The extended service to Haslemere is a great addition and you can get connections with the 19 to Aldershot 70/71 to Woking and Guildford or stay on the bus and travel to Alton via Grayshott on the 23.

Yes since the revised timetable that was introduced on the 1st September not all the 13 from Haslemere have been exactly on time and on occasions the 12:45 which is supposed to get to Alton High Street at 13:19 and the College at 13:24 get to the College around 13:35/40 is a bit of a pain, but it is a nice ride. Even though its a 2hr trip between Basingstoke and Haslemere and a 4hr round trip.

And yes it could be better if the service was extended to Liphook/Haslemere on Saturdays but we can't ask for it all and when asking Stagecoach for the option.

There reply was 'The portion between Whitehill and Liphook/Haslemere is financially supported by the HCC and that section of the route on weekends was withdrawn a few years back for low usage

But that my opinion

Steven Williams
